Bicycle Cassettes by Birthgiving Toad
Tomorrow we release no less than three albums by manic-prog artist Birthgiving Toad.
The music is availble digitally and on 50 exclusive and numbered cassette tape box-sets called Bicycle Cassettes and it can be pre-ordered now here. We had a blast yesterday printing the artwork, cutting it to make it fit into the cases and most of all we enjoyed listening to how awesome these tapes sound (if you've thrown away your walkman there's also a download voucher included). Here's some info on the individual albums:
For Awkward Company
...was written and recorded on the Danish island Funen in 2010, starting on new years eve. All instruments are played by the toad himself in a school's dorm room. As the first completed album by Birthgiving Toad the 10 tracks perfectly encapsulate the scope of Lasse Bækby Buch's brilliant and weird ideas. Read more here. Here's the closing track for you:
As Fruit Hat
...came to life shortly after For Awkward Company with a little help from friends of Birthgiving Toad. Listen to the opening track "Thought of Having the Most" here:
Music for Young Centaurs
The title says it all, eh?. This is a carefully selected digest of a jam with Birthgiving Toad and Den Drones (Piotr Szwajgier) in a small house in Warzaw, Poland. After the spontanious jam session recording other instruments have been added to this very interesting and powerful mix of composition and improvisation.
We're proud to welcome Birthgiving Toad to our collective of artists! Buy you box-set here before it's too late - there's only 50 of these babies. And don't miss the chance of seeing Birthgiving Toad live on one of these few dates:
