Introducing Schoolgirls by Rangleklods

May 07, 2015

Rangleklods shares their new and second single and music video “Schoolgirls” from their forthcoming album Straitjacket (out May 18th via Tambourhinoceros). The first single “Lost U” featured  Pernille Smith-Sivertsen as the lead singer but  on “Schoolgirls” Esben Nørskov Andersen takes the lead with his characteristic baritone voice to represent the darker side of the Rangleklods universe.

About the song and the video Esben and Pernille explains:

"Schoolgirls is a song about forbidden lust within a total lack of intimacy. A conceptualized piece  of erotica. Japanese anime porn and Nabokov's haunting 'Lolita' inspired us to fantasize about a power struggle between desire and submission in a modern world no one fully understands. The video is a visual exploration of these exact themes.”

Jonas Bang is a young Copenhagen-based music video director and photographer. He is considered as one of the most promising talents in Scandinavia and has already worked with some of the biggest bands on the Danish scene – whether it be touring with WhoMadeWho, photographing Trentemøller for Canadian Ion Magazine and lately he had his four films for The Lake Radio about sound exclusively premiered on Nowness.

Jonas Bang has a great sense of what’s happening on the Danish music scene working with the most respected up and comers like Broken Twin, Baby In Vain and Communions. At the tender age of 19, he received the official prize for Best Danish Music Photography, this while he was still in high school. His work has been featured on Nowness, Drowned In Sound, Glamcult, Flavorwire, CMJ, Vice Noisey and Danish National Television. Jonas is also a part of the team behind the experimental music web channel Unseen recordings, who have filmed interviews and sessions with Thurston Moore, The Necks, Bill Orcutt and Jørgen Leth.
