Treefight For Sunlight (2010) by Simon Birk

Single, album and tour announced

Aug 31, 2010

Now the time has come to welcome not only the new single "What Became Of You And I?" but also the forthcoming debut album A Collection Of Vibrations For Your Skull.

The single is out now in Denmark and the album will be available on October 4, 2010.

Treefight For Sunlight released their first single "Facing The Sun" in May 2010. A lot has changed since then. Since its debut as Single Of The Week on national Danish radio P3 Facing The Sun has been a household name on Danish radio. The song topped the Soundvenue High 5 chart for 4 weeks in a row and the band has proved to be a truly amazing live act. Soundvenue described their debut show beautifully and to the point: "Treefight For Sunlight brought the sunshine with pop-pearls on a string". And the song has just been voted in as the Summer Hit Of 2010 on national Danish radio, P3.

What Became Of You And I is the 9th track of the album. A song constantly moving between dissonance and consonance, chaos and cosmos - musically as well as emotionally. This consistency between form and content is characteristic of Treefight For Sunlight - and hereby the band underlines their talent for composing in the deepest respect of the expression of the individual song.

A Collection Of Vibrations For You Skull is one of those albums that shines with sincerity and the sheer joy of playing music - and at the same time it is an album where every aspect has been thought through on a near microscopic level. As a listener you know from the first seconds of the opening song A Dream Before Sleep that you are about to witness artistic greatness. Treefight For Sunlight embraces the classic virtues of pop-music; from the danceable and catchy songs such as You And The New WorldFacing The Sun and What Became Of You And I? over the progressive pop-symphonies such as Riddles In Rhymes and The Universe Is A Woman to the more introvert and repetitive songs like They Never Did Know and Time Stretcher.

The music moves in these constant fluctuations between contrasts and between no less than 3 extraordinary lead singers. The result is a complex yet homogenous album where a free imagination and artistic honesty bid you welcome.

Treefight For Sunlight will of course play all over Denmark this fall. They are opening for The Rumour Said Fire and you can catch these two awesome bands here:
