Blondage drops new video

One week ago Blondage released their second single “Lucky Black Skirt” and it has already reached 100.000 streams on Spotify while the first single “Dive” just passed 900.000 and it is still climbing. It has truly been a flying start for the duo formerly known as Rangleklods consisting of Pernille Smith-Sivertsen and Esben Andersen. Both singles will be on their debut EP Blondage out September 16th via your's truly.

Once again, Blondage has collaborated with director and artist Jonas Bang who co-directed the video for “Dive”. Together they have explored the aesthetic framework of Blondage’s visual universe and the result is this enticing and experimental video for “Lucky Black Skirt”. The video is bathed in blue and purple tones and tells the story of power structures between a man and a woman.

Jonas Bang explains:

"We wanted to place the two characters across from each other and let the changing balance of power between them be the center of the development and and action of the video. Esben’s character starts in control, but eventually it’s Pernille who’s on top. Visually it explores a more rough and darker side to Blondage’s aesthetics.”

“Lucky Black Skirt” is an edgy, organic pop song with bittersweet and longing lyrics toying with the ongoing beat and instrumental hooks. Contrary to “Dive” it’s Esben on lead vocals this time around. His shady vocal provides an interesting counterpart to the uplifting mood of the song. The lyric explains the feeling of letting go of all your restrains when you’re going out:

”Lucky Black Skirt” is a dark naive fantasy; A need to let go for one night and forget everything and everyone holding you back. It’s about giving in to desire even though you know that you shouldn’t and about crossing a limit and being aware that you’re doing it”, Esben explains.
