The New Spring & Kala-OK @ Wundergrund
Wundergrund is an annual festival in Copenhagen for new experimental music and sound art - and we love it. This year both Kala-OK and The New Spring are playing some very unique and interesting shows on the festival.
Here's Wundergrund's description of Kala-OK's show @ Litteraturhaus on Oct 28:
Thousands of recorded samples are the basis for the crooked, harmonic, abrupt and lo-fi sounding melodic structures that give drummer Kristian Mondrup's project Kala-OK its character. At Wundergrund, Kala-OK will morph itself into a duo, with John De Lira on synths. Together they will dive down into Kala-OK's back catalogue, and with inspiration from past pioneers of electronic music, they will create a set-up that includes synthesizers, samplers and tone generators.
And The New Spring's show on Oct 29 @ Litteraturhaus is as follows:
Bastian Kallesøe made his debut as a solo artist early in 2011 under the moniker The New Spring. He quickly made a name for himself, and now has two albums behind him, which could best be described as experimental neo-folk. At this concert he will push his experiment further. The New Springs's songs will be reframed by musicians with new sounds and new perspectives. Some of jazz and folk's best musicians will be on the stage: Jan Kaspersen, Christina Von Bülow, Michala Østergaard og Peter Uhrbrand.
