Happy label mates
Last night Tambourhinoceros received an award from GAFFA for doing something extraordinary for the Danish music scene.
Director of GAFFA, Robert Borges awarded Aske Zidore and Kristoffer Rom with the following motivation:
"The Prize of Recognition goes to a field player in the music world who has made an extraordinary effort on the music scene during the past year. The Prize of Recognition goes to a record label. A fledgling record label, that has defied any talk of crisis and shown that you can go far with commitment, sense of quality and hard work - even without a lot of money. A record label that has released some of the best Danish albums, and where the two label founders are closely involved in every part of the process. They play on the records, produce them, make the album artwork, and represent all the practical work as well. They publish indie-rock, neo-folk, electronica, punk and much more. And they've already got one of their bands allocated to one of Britain's leading indie labels. All this has happened within the past year, while the two label founders also had time to play in one of Denmark's leading rock bands, Oh No Ono. In 2010 they have released excellent albums with Kirsten & Marie, Treefight For Sunlight and 4 Guys From The Future , and there is plenty more to come from names like FCAN, Iceage, The New Spring, Thulebasen among others. The Prize of Recognition goes to the record label with the ineffable name Tambourhinoceros and the two founders Aske Zidore and Kristoffer Rom. Give them a round of applause! "
