We welcome August Rosenbaum

We welcome August Rosenbaum

Today is a big day for us as we announce our latest signing: The incredibly talented pianist August Rosenbaum.

Born into a family of artists in Copenhagen, August was the only kid in elementary school who would perform Thelonious Monk, Wu Tang Clan and Erik Satie at school recitals - with equal conviction. But then again, there has always been several sides to the talent of this Danish piano prodigy. Since then August has won Danish Music Awards for his solo projects, performed at the acclaimed Sónar Festival, and his solo album “Heights” was nominated for the 2014 Nordic Music Prize and National Danish Critics’ Award.

2017 will see a new solo project by August produced by Robin Hannibal (Rhye, Kendrick Lamar and others). August Rosenbaum’s music melds the cinematic and pristine with a contemporary coolness stemming from the likes of Ryuichi Sakamoto or Talk Talk. His collaborators range from artists such as Quadron, Rhye and MØ to the abstractions of Zeena Parkins, Nils Frahm and video artist Jesper Just. Rosenbaum’s music has been commissioned for film and theatre — and in 2017 he is set to compose a new score for the Royal Danish Ballet together with Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon.

We're truly excited to share the new music of August Rosenbaum with all of you.
