Intet Altid
INTET ALTID is a Danish alternative pop duo, which translates into both “NOTHING ALWAYS” and “NO FOREVER”. The duo writes synth-based songs about depression, suicide, and loneliness, themes that are rarely so honestly reflected on in modern pop music. Enmeshed in a universe of trap hi-hats, sampled protest screams, and autotuned trumpets - all within their R&B inspired pop - the band muses on the costs of living in a society where personal happiness is worshipped at the altar.
INTER ALTID’s melancholic tunes are built around their artistic use of autotune, to create an aura of alienation; questioning what we normally deem beautiful, and whose voices are allowed to speak. But despite their pervading artistic critiques of pop culture, INTET ALTID nevertheless knows their place in it, and believes in its potential to unite us around topics that often are difficult to speak about.
The duo consists of Mikkel Grevsen and Caspar Eric. Coming from different sides of Denmark, the duo comes from different backgrounds both geographically and musically, but found each other through a love for electronic and hip-hop inspired pop. Like many of history’s great collaborations, INTET ALTID began with drinks at a bar, where they both bonded over the lack of political and social themes in pop music.
It was decided that they would bring the politically and socially charged lyrics of contemporary rap into the world electronic pop. Teaming up with producer Rune Borup, their 2019 debut album Når nogen rammer jorden creates a dream-like soundscape where accessible seriousness, honest alienation, and mainstream criticism aren’t oxymorons.
