Rangleklods announces album with new single "Alien"

Nov 02, 2023
Rangleklods’ new single “Alien” aims to be the most peculiar and surprisingly honest song you’ve heard about starting a family. Rangleklods also announces his first album since 2015, set to be released on February 9th, 2024.

“Alien” sets the stage for the many contradictory emotions that can arise when expecting your first child.

“You’re constantly going back and forth between euphoria and the feeling that everything  is falling apart”, says Rangleklods aka Esben Nørskov Andersen, who himself became a father for the first time last year. On “Alien”, he illustrates these emotions  in the lyrics of the track where he’s gazing at his partner and the growing belly while singing:

"I’ve been looking at you from the other side of the room / Do you think I look like a freak? / I've been looking at you all night all day / I know we could be / happy / kick kick kick kick oomph / another kick from the alien."

Rangleklods combines his signature sonic experiments and surprising twists with a heavy, repetitive, and groovy four-on-the-floor beat. His vocals are pitched down to a low-frequency monstrous voice, referencing how the voice might sound to the alien inside the belly. “Alien” is the latest glimpse into the coming album Breathe In, Breathe Out announced today, out Feb 9, 2024, and up for pre-order/pre-saving here

The album title symbolizes finding peace even in life's chaotic moments and uncontrollable cycles. Rangleklods has created an electronic album rooted in both house music and reflective and honest song writing. The album dwells into the paradox of everyday life and when it all makes the most and the least sense at the same time. That’s the case with "Alien" too, where life is boiling with pregnancy mood swings, euphoria, and love.

"Breathe In, Breathe Out is a reflection on the past few years of my life. A time of both my best and worst days. I’ve channeled it all into the album's ten songs, so it’s by far the most personal songs I have ever released. You can dance, cry, and smile while listening, just as I did while writing the songs. I am so excited to finally get the music out of the studio and into the world," says Esben Nørskov Andersen about his upcoming album.
