Mysteriously in Love with Clean Spasms

Mysteriously in Love with Clean Spasms

It's always been a curious conundrum why we've been so mysteriously in love with the milky medicine of PRE-Be-UN's x-ray pop. (How many song titles can you use in one sentence?)

clean spasms, PRE-Be-UN's sophmore album, is celebrating its seventh anniversary this week! clean spasms is a far-reaching art-pop landscape which adorns its catchy, pop songwriting with analog sequencers, spoken word samples, and flute parts alike; a beautiful meeting of pop and experimental.

PRE-Be-UN was Nicolai Kleinerman Koch's (ex Oh No Ono keyboardist) musical brainchild. He played nearly every instrument on clean spasms, and also had a clear vision for the project:

"Nowadays it is hard to discover an authentic folk culture, but with PRE-Be-UN I aim to address the fact the pop culture is the authentic folk culture... not anything else. My lyrics have ambiguity as a textual ideal, and I think you could speak about them as hyper referential, as the lyrics constantly - on sentence-level - refer to pop and avant-garde culture; everything from Gene Vincent to George Brecht."

You can still grab a vinyl here, or take a listen on our "Happy Birthday To..." playlist here. Make sure to follow for more birthdays coming up, and we hope you have a clean spasm!
