Birthgiving Toad

Birthgiving Toad

Birthgiving Toad is guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Lasse Bækby Buch's main project. People have described Birthgiving Toad’s eclectic music as "Mutant no-wave funk", "Larm", "Very offbeat and complex pop-prog", "Fuzzed-up prog metal-fusion-jazz-funk", and "A sweaty, funky and a bit lofi version of math rock".

As these descriptions show, classifying Birthgiving Toad's music is not an easy task. But what we fell in love with is Lasse's ability to compose and play extremely complex music while at the same time making it sound organic and playful. It is a universe of Zappa-esq virtuosity, an intensity competing with Tony Williams' Lifetime Trio, and a maximalist output giving even the most devout Captain Beefheart fans something to listen to. In short, Birthgiving Toad is a star on the experimental music scene.
